The JunosV Wireless LAN Controller is a virtual WLAN controller that enables cost effective, flexible deployments that help to address BYOD, and the need to support seamless integration between wired and wireless networks.

It is the only WLAN controller that can be deployed as either a physical appliance in a WLC Series Controller or as a software-based virtual controller on a server device. It makes WLAN control location- and platform-agnostic for a variety of deployment options, whether on premise or in the private cloud.

The JunosV Wireless LAN Controller makes wireless controller functionality a service on the network that allows network control from anywhere. And, it maintains consistent, Juniper WLC Series capabilities, including Virtual Controller Cluster, in-service software upgrades (ISSU), self organizing adds, moves and changes, and local switching. It simplifies the network, increases flexibility, and decreases costs, with a pay as you grow model, and it delivers the highest reliability for integrated wired and wireless networks.

JunosV Wireless LAN Controller is optimized for distributed enterprise campus environments, enables cost-effective, flexible deployments and features:

  • VMware-based, deployed on x86 platforms
  • Support for up to 256 APs per instance
  • Identical feature set to Juniper appliance-based controllers – e.g. Virtual Controller Clustering, ISSU, etc.
  • Supports hybrid Virtual Controller Clustering consisting of a blend of software-based JunosV Wireless LAN controllers and hardware-based WLC Series controllers
